Job Opening: Production Designer

Blue Marble Creative (BMC) is a White Salmon, WA-based creative services agency. The Production Designer will be responsible for producing artwork and making changes to support the work of Creative Directors and other Designers. The Production Designer should have a working knowledge of Adobe CS5, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. The Production Designer will ideally have some skills in HTML and CSS, sufficient for posting content online and making changes to existing websites. The right candidate will be motivated to continue learning and improving his/her skills in these areas. The Production Designer should be highly organized and detail oriented with some training in design principles and natural aesthetic talent. As a small agency, the Production Designer will have unique opportunities to attend client meetings and participate in many aspects of the creative process.

Responsibilities:

Compose graphic design projects within specific guidelines for print and digital media, follow instructions for making changes, ensure all details are correct, prepare files for printing, make updates to websites, apply specified styles to content, crop and edit photos, search for stock photos and illustrations to meet established criteria, assist with other administrative tasks.

Job Qualifications:

  • at least 2 years experience in an entry-level graphic design position and/or a 2 year degree or certificate in graphic design
  • Basic skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign, preferably CS5 and Macintosh OS
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS and a fundamental understanding of how to publish files online
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with team members and customers
  • Able to solve problems and learn new skills independently and ask for help or clarification when needed
  • An interest in social and environmental causes a strong plus

This is a contract to hire position, 15-40 hours per week. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
